KARACHI: Relief goods arrive from Japan


KARACHI, Aug 6: Consul General of Japan Kanji Hanagata handed over relief goods donated by the government of Japan for rain and flood affected people of Sindh to the provincial Minister for Revenue Altaf Hussain Unnar at Jinnah terminal on Wednesday.

Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkal Qazi, Director General (ERC) Brig (retd) Sarfaraz Khan were also present on the occasion.

The relief goods comprise 100 tents, 700 sleeping mattresses, 800 handy water tanks, 100 pieces of ground sheets, 10 rolls of plastic sheets, 10 water purifiers, 10 big water tanks and 10 electric generators.

The government of Japan has sent relief goods on humanitarian grounds and in consideration of the friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan.—APP
