LAHORE, Aug 2: A card of six events featuring the Kohat Plate, a class V division I and II combined handicap race highlights the Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse on Sunday.

In the Kohat Plate, a class V division I and II to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000m, five-year-old bay mare On On, a progeny of Shogun out-of-Basant Aie looks a good proposition.

None of her ten rivals can match her in speed and stride. On On finished a good second behind Better Case on July 20 last. She should make mends and pick up the spoils if connections desired so.

This will be the sixth and last race of the day in which 11 contestants are taking part barring last-minute withdrawals.

The supporting and fifth event, the Chaman Plate, a class VII division I handicap race to have gone over 900m has a big field of 14 runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.

In this race Weldon Shogun, Little Master and king’s Way attract attention. The first named is in a good form and will be going to make it two in-a-row.

King’s Way is well-placed in the handicap and is a well-bred three-year -old colt, though he has not shown his peak form yet.

Dark-bay Fly To The Stars has been demoted considerably in the handicap and can prove a dark horse.

Fly To The Stars’ connections like to win at longer odds.

Only the feature event, the Kohat Plate is to be held over the sprinting distance of 1000m while the first five events are to be contested over 900 metres. The first race will be held at 3pm.
