KARACHI: Owners of private schools warned

KARACHI, Aug 2: Sindh Minister for Education Irfanullah Marwat, on Saturday, said if any private school would open on or before Aug 17, in violation of the government decision, its registration would be cancelled and departmental action would be taken against it.

He said that all private and government schools, and colleges should remain closed till Aug 17, because camps had been set up in educational institutions to provide relief to the rain victims. He asked the owners of private schools to keep their institutions closed till the announced date.

The minister said that the owners of private schools were issuing wrong statements to press regarding opening of the schools before the announced date. He categorically stated for the information of students that all schools would open after Aug 17.

Mr Marwat also took notice of EDO Education Hyderabad’s statement that schools and colleges would reopen after Aug 11 and said that the official had been warned to avoid such misleading statements.

However, he made it clear that the schools would open only for a day on Aug 14 to celebrate the Independence Day.—PPI/APP
