Pakistan, Canada trade pacts

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Pakistan and Canada are considering to finalize various agreements to expand mutual trade, investment and business activities between the two countries.
Official announcement, issued by the Commerce Ministry here on Saturday, said that minister for Commerce, Humayun Akhtar invited Canadian businessmen to visit Pakistan for study and discussion with Pakistan’s business community for joint ventures as investment climate in the country is very favourable at the moment.
He was speaking at Pakistan and Canadian business delegations meeting on Saturday.
He said that Pakistan businessmen have obtained a good volume of export orders including textile and leather products from Canadian buyers.
He also emphasised that frequent exchanges of trade delegations would boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Pakistan businessmen delegation which is visiting Canada comprise representatives from textile, leather products, rice, sports goods and surgical instruments sectors.
