Open chess from Aug 7

KARACHI, Aug 1: The 26th Friendship House Open Chess Championship will be held at Russian Centre of Science and Culture from Aug 7 to 10, organisers announced on Friday.

The event is being organised by Friendship House with the collaboration of Mehran Chess Academy.

The championship will be played in two categories, open and non-rated on Swiss league system consisting of seven rounds with a time control of 45 minutes for each player.

Matches will be played between 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

This is a traditional annual chess event, in which besides non-ranking players of the city, top ranking players of Pakistan also take part.—APP
