Test cricketer grieved


KARACHI, Aug 1: Dr Israr Ahmed, father of former Test wicket-keeper Shahid Israr and ex-first-class batsman Rashid Israr, died of cardiac failure here on Thursday.

He was 84. Born in Ghazipur in the Indian state of Uttar Pardesh, Dr Israr did his MBBS from Agra in 1945.

The deceased, who was laid to rest at Shah Faisal (Drigh) Colony graveyard, besides Shahid and Rashid he also leaves behind his wife and three daughters.
