KARACHI, July 29: The city district government on Tuesday published a tender worth Rs9.7 million for construction of the Mauripur Road from Gulbai Roundabout to the PAF crossing, expected to start in 20 days.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan had ordered construction of the road on priority in view of the traffic mess up on it. The city government has decided to construct the road as an additional scheme and directed the departments concerned to drain out rainwater through electric pumps from the Gulbai Roundabout.

It has directed the works and services department to fill big potholes on the road and install pumps for draining out the water.

The department has installed three pumps at the roundabout with the cooperation of the fire brigade for drainage of rainwater.—PPI
