Sugar export

KARACHI, July 29: The TCP is ready to procure another 100,000 tons of refined sugar for export purposes.

TCP chairman Syed Masood Alam Rizvi told APP here on Tuesday that the corporation was ready to procure this sugar for export purposes if asked by the government.

He said the buyers were available and all the procedures were in place to procure sugar. “As soon as we get the orders from the government we will float tenders for sugar procurement and then for sugar export,” Mr Rizvi said.

He said the TCP had already procured and exported 100,000 tons of sugar early this year on the instructions of the government to bail out sugar industry from financial crisis.
