RCB stopped from leasing out disputed land

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, July 25: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) from leasing out the disputed land on Peshawar Road.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) had filed a writ petition in the court of Justice Mansoor Ahmad of the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench. The learned judge stayed the RCB from leasing out the land, measuring about eight kanals. The NHA claims that the land belongs to it and the RCB has assumed its ownership through forgery.

It is pertinent to mention here that the civic body had leased out the land to a private company for about 20 years.
