KARACHI: Action against smoke-emitting vehicles ordered

KARACHI, July 21: Adviser to chief minister on environment, Faisal Malik, has called for initiating stern action against the owners of the smoke-emitting vehicles.

He was chairing a departmental meeting at the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Complex, Korangi on Monday.

He directed the secretary environment Aslam Sanjrani and director general environment Shafiq Khoso to take stern action against the owners of smoke-emitting vehicles in coordination with the high officials of traffic police so that these owners should not bring their vehicles on roads without proper repairs and service.

He said that action should also be taken against those officials, who misused their authority while issuing the fitness certificate to unfit vehicles.—APP
