KARACHI, July 20: The chairman action committee of Building Designers’ Licence Holders has drawn the attention of provincial government towards shortcomings in the Building and Town Planning Regulations of 2002.
The chairman said that the new regulations had deprived the KDA or KBCA building designers’ of their bread and butter by changing size of plot from 400 square yards to 120 square yards. This was done by those drafting the regulations for their vested interests, the committee alleged.
The committee said that soon after the notification of regulations, the government of Sindh would have to nominate an “Anomaly Committee’ to get rid of hundreds of such anomalies. The committee worked for six months, but the anomalies were so many that presently local government department was considering to extend tenure of committee for yet another year.—APP
