KARACHI, July 19: The City District Government Karachi has taken measures to facilitate picnickers and to ensure the safety of people going to beaches on Sundays.
The DCO Karachi visited an emergency centre established at Hawkesbay and reviewed the safety arrangements.
He directed the EDO Health to ensure provision of adequate quantity of medicine for treatment of victims of bluebottle.
On the occasion, in charge of emergency centre and district officer civil defence and fire brigade, apprised the DCO of the problems faced by them.
He informed that on holidays, people visit the beaches in a large number and there was a need for an increased number of police force, particularly the horse-mounted force for patrolling along the coast.
He said ambulances and mobiles have been deployed at the emergency centre while a watch and ward post had also been set up where life guards will remain present.
The DCO was informed that work on the construction of watch-tower had started.
The DCO directed that staff concerned should remain present at the beaches, particularly on Sundays, while all life-saving equipment, ambulances and mobiles must remain alert at the emergency centre.
The city government has appealed to the people to desist from going to Mubarak village, till the village dam is repaired.—APP
