KARACHI, July 11: Six ships carrying containers, coal and sugar for Afghanistan are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was higher thanks to steady arrivals. As a result, half a dozen ships, Sima Bahar, Dubai, Ricker Rickmers, to offload and load containers, Ping Jiang, to offload and load general cargo, Hyderabad to unload rock phosphate and Bow Sky to unload chemicals were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed were led by Hyundai Highway, Anangel Eagle and Bow Sky, while Rickmer Rickmers, Dubai, PONL Mahi, Sina Bangka and Sima Bahar are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves relatively slow owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, fall to 52,509 tons comprising 17,644 tons of export cargo and 34,865 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Sea Ford, with soyabean oil, Mar Challenger Kota Teraju, Med Tai Chung, with containers, Mercs Kandy, with 3,850 tons of sugar for Afghanistan and Marime Traders, with 13,510 tons of coal.
