ISLAMABAD, July 8: Swedish ambassador in Pakistan Peter Tejler visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and held a broad-based discussion with the businessmen for promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Sweden. He was accompanied by the embassy counsellor Dag Dannfelt.
Mr Tejler indicated that though trade between the two countries was small with balance of trade in favour of Pakistan, Sweden welcomed Pakistani products and urged the businessmen to increase their exports to Sweden. He said more than 40 per cent of Swedish products were exported to the European countries.
He said Swedish businessmen considered Pakistan as an investment-friendly country, and a trade and investment delegation from Sweden would visit Pakistan towards the end of this or early next year. Swedish Embassy in Islamabad would soon have a full-time staff member to look after trade and investment related matters, the ambassador disclosed.
