ISLAMABAD, July 7: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that a high level investigation is under progress to catch the culprits of Quetta incident in which more than fifty persons were killed.

He was talking to mediamen after the joint parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Q and its allied parties here on Monday.

He expressed his satisfaction over the progress of investigation of the Quetta tragedy and hoped that culprits would be caught soon.

Replying to a question related to changes in administration of the province he said that it was possible.

Regarding talks with leaders of opposition he said: “Our doors are open and the opposition should play its role to create a facilitating atmosphere for holding dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties.

He added: “The opposition is busy with moving motions for the removal of speaker and deputy speaker, which indicates their frivolous approach.”

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Rashid Ahmad has said that being unable to carry out their activities in Punjab and Karachi, the terrorists have slipped into Balochistan.

Talking to a foreign news organization he said it could not be ascertained who the perpetrators of Quetta incident were but there were three dead bodies which had been identified.

“We shall catch and punish them. They will not be able to escape punishment,” he said.

Replying to a question he said, a large number of wanted criminals had been arrested and tried.

Commenting on the timing of Quetta incident the minister said: “ It appears to be a move to sabotage the efforts made by President Pervez Musharraf to earn a good name for Pakistan during his recently concluded foreign visit.”

Balochistan could play a key role in the progress of Pakistan, particularly after the construction of Gwadar port, he said.—APP
