RAWALPINDI, July 7: The additional district and sessions judge, Dost Mohammad Khemta, on Monday acquitted two persons of the charges of murder.

The judge exonerated Amjad Khan and Jabbar, who, according to the prosecution, had allegedly killed Mohammad Yahya in the jurisdiction of Banni police station.

Similarly, in another case, the judge awarded six-month rigorous imprisonment to an person, Mohammad Akram, who was booked by the Cantonment police for peddling drugs.

The same court, through a bailiff, recovered a two-year-old girl from the custody of her father and handed over the minor to her mother.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Akram Awan, acquitted three persons — Masud Ahmed, Mohammad Imran and Ahmed Nawaz — of the charges of abduction and assault when the complainant changed her statement.

In another kidnapping for ransom case, the additional district and sessions judge, Rao Sultan Ali Tahir, exonerated two persons owing to lack of evidence against them.

The prosecution had contended that the accused — Zulfiqar Shah and Mohammad Sabir — abducted a woman, Farzana. However, it failed to present any evidence against them.

The additional district and sessions judge, Suhail Akram Awan, issued a show cause notice to the SHO of Waris Khan police station for not presenting the record in a criminal case.
