ISLAMABAD, July 7: The Export Promotion Bureau is actively considering establishing a display centre at Sharjah to project Pakistani products and attract the attentions of the Gulf states.
The EPB has requested the Export Development Fund (EDF) Board to accord its approval in principle and permission may be given to the EPB to proceed further in this connection.
According to official sources the Sharjah government (UAE) has offered the Export Promotion Bureau 2,000 sq metres of land in Sharjah free of cost for establishment of display or exhibition centre for Pakistani products to promote joint trade and economic cooperation in the regional market.
The land would be made available on lease for a period of 10 years from completion of project building. The land offered is in the vicinity of the huge Expo Centre already operational and owned by the government of Sharjah.
EPB is of the view that the offer can be utilized for the establishment of a suitable display/ exhibition facility under BOT arrangement with an international exhibition/display management company.—APP
