KARACHI: Awareness against narcotics stressed

KARACHI, July 6: Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation, Rauf Siddiqui, has said that individuals and communities must play their role in combating the menace of narcotics.

He was talking to a delegation of social workers from the interior of Sindh here at his office on Sunday. The delegation members assured the minister of full cooperation to make the campaign against narcotics a success.

The minister stated that excise officials would be awarded with out-of-turn promotion and appreciation letters in case of recovery of narcotics and arrest of drug traffickers by them.

Referring to a rally held on the anti-narcotics day, the minister said more such rallies and other programmes should be held to create awareness against narcotics.—APP
