RAWALPINDI July 2: Two girls were burnt in different incidents while preparing meal, police said on Thursday.

In the first incident, Mohammad Ashraf’s daughter Bushra Bibi, 15, was burnt while boiling milk on a stove at Adiala.

The victim told the police that her scarf fell on the stove and caught fire burning her seriously. On hearing the girl’s screams, the family members rushed to her rescue. They put off the fire and shifted her to Rawalpindi General Hospital. According to doctors, the victim received more than 50 per cent burn injuries and was in a critical condition.

In another incident, Shazia Bibi, 25, a resident of Talagang, was burnt while preparing meal at her house, police said. The victim was sprinkling kerosene on fuel wood when her clothes caught fire.

Her family put off fire and shifted her to Rawalpindi General Hospital. The girl has received 30 per cent burn injuries and is in a critical condition.
