ISLAMABAD, July 1: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved technical assistance grant of $150,000 to Pakistan to improve rural livelihoods through participatory resettlement in irrigation development.
The technical assistance aimed at centralizing the participatory approach in dealing with resettlement and land acquisition issues in the planning and implementation of irrigation development, said Marshuk Ali Shah, Asian Development Bank Country Director for Pakistan.
Specially, it would support the Grievance Redress and Settlement Committee (GRSC), which is dealing with concerns relating to the ongoing Chasma Right Bank Irrigation Project Stage III (CRBIP III).
