KARACHI, July 1: Journalists and newspaper workers held a day-long protest camp on Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road here on Tuesday against “the non-implementation of the Seventh Wage Board Award.”
The camp, organized by the Karachi Union of Journalists and APNEC as part of a nation-wide campaign, was visited by a number of leaders of political parties, NGOs, MNAs, MPAs and activists who assured their support to the newspaper employees.
Those who visited the camp included provincial ministers Aftab Ahmed Shaikh and Imtiaz Shaikh, PPP leaders Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Qaim Ali Shah and Senator Raza Rabbani and Prof Ghafoor Ahmed of the Jamaat-i-Islami.
