KARACHI: Govt plans to train women councillors


KARACHI, July 1: Sindh minister for women development Dr Saeeda Malik has said that the government will provide training to women councillors so they can serve the people of their areas in a better way.

Speaking at a luncheon hosted by the German Consul-General, Verena Grafinvon Roedern, here at a local hotel Tuesday, the minister said the government had taken steps for promoting the cause of womenfolk, and as a result, the number of women’s seats in the parliament had increased significantly.

She said women living in villages are more skilled and the craft produced by them are much appreciated in the market.

She said their products can be introduced at the national and international levels. — APP
