SARGODHA, June 30: The tehsil council presented on Monday its surplus tax-free budget for 2003-04, showing income of Rs258.8 million and the estimated expenditure of Rs352.945 million.

Presenting the budget, Tehsil Nazim Dr Liaquat Ali Khan said the Punjab government had promised to provide Rs31.5 million to the Tehsil Municipal Administration, but it had not paid a penny so far.

He said Rs152.945 million had been earmarked for various development projects and Rs113.515 million had been allocated for the monthly salaries.

The Nazim added that no new tax had been suggested for the fresh fiscal year to benefit the masses.
