Musharraf failed to take up vital issues: JI

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 26: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) has said Gen Musharraf failed to take up a number of vital national issues during his meeting with President George W. Bush at Camp David on Tuesday.

In a press statement, JI deputy chief Senator Prof Khurshid Ahmad said first of all Gen Musharraf should have taken up the issues concerning the plight of Pakistanis in the US after 9-11 as well as those held in an inhuman condition at the Guantanamo Bay.

Secondly, he said, the most important issue has been the presence of American forces and FBI agents in Pakistani. Whatever, facilities were given to the US after 9-11 were under duress and now after 20 months there is no justification for the presence of US forces in Pakistan.
