KARACHI: LFO not acceptable: Tahmina

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 26: PML-N MNA Tahmina Daultana said on Thursday that the Legal Framework Order (LFO) was aimed at concentrating more and more powers in an individual to establish his dictatorship in the country.

She was addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Thursday.

She said the Legal Framework Order (LFO) was aimed at concentrating more and more powers in an individual to establish his dictatorship in the country.

Terming the National Assembly speaker’s ruling on the LFO unconstitutional, she maintained that the Parliament was the sole authority to validate the LFO and “we would resist every move that can undermine the authority of the Parliament”. She said the procedure for election of head of state had been given in the 1973 constitution and the president’ s election through referendum was unacceptable.

In reply to a question she said her party was in favour of building water reservoirs in the country.
