TMA stands for social compliances

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 25: Towel Manufacturers’ Association of Pakistan (TMA) has advised the Export Promotion Bureau to discard the policies of SROs, circulars and public notices and instead should assist exporters in adopting conditions of ‘social compliances’ under WTO regime.

The TMA patron-in-chief S M A Rizvi feels that time has come that entire government machinery and private sector should join hand to make the country economically strong.

He said the services of the 19 training institutes, set up by the EPB with the Export Development Fund (EDF) could be utilized to make the task of achieving ‘social compliance’ by exporters easier.

He said that the successful visit of the president General Pervez Musharraf to UK and US should be used as a strong base for achieving economic prosperity and well being of the general masses.

Rizvi said that all political parties should also join hand to work for an economically strong Pakistan. He said that time should not be wasted on such issues like LFO but to strive hard for providing food, shelter, health and education to the have-nots.
