GUJRANWALA, June 23: A vegetable market commission agent and his nephew were shot dead while their another relative injured over property dispute by four people at Alipur Chattha, here on Monday.
Reports said Shaukat Mehr and his nephew Shafqat alias Mitho Mehr were sitting at their shop when four armed men came there and showered bullets on them, killing them instantly. Their relative Asif Mehr was grievously injured and taken to the civil hospital.
Police claimed to have arrested suspect Muhammad Ilyas and his brothers. Investigation is under way.
ARREST: The Alipur Chattha police claimed on Monday to have arrested the four robbers, who had plundered cash from a grain market commission agent, within six hours of the incident.
Ghulam Abbas was reportedly at his shop when four armed men held him up and took away Rs132,000.
On receiving information, the police began the hunt and arrested them after a brief encounter. They also claimed to have retrieved the money.
UPLIFT: List of various development projects of the localities falling under NA-95, Gujranwala, has been forwarded to the government for approval, PPP (Patriots) MNA Imranullah Chaudhry said.
Speaking at a meeting on Monday, he claimed that the prime minister had ordered release of Rs10 million for some of the development schemes.
He said Rs150 million would be spent on the construction of roads, sewerage and water supply and Rs70 million had been approved for provision of gas.

Nadeem Butt, the brother of actor Wasim Butt, was bathing along with his friends and drowned.
