TOBA TEK SINGH, June 21: A bus driver and his helper were thrashed by the students of a local college, on Toba-Chichawatani Road on Saturday.

The bus crew had reportedly beaten up Liaquat Ali of the Government Vocational Training Institute. On receiving information, his fellows came on the road outside the college, stopped the bus and thrashed the driver and his helper.

Later, the students dispersed on the arrival of their principal.

VAN LOOTED: Dacoits looted a passengers’ wagon near the forest on Rajana-Faisalabad Road, some 20 kilometres from here, on Friday night.

Two dacoits, who were in the Faisalabad-bound wagon (No GAL 5181) in the guise of passengers, held up the driver near Chak 284 GB. They forced the driver to take the wagon in the forest.

They collected cash, golden ornaments, wrist watches and other valuables from the passengers and fled away into the forest.

Rajana police cordoned off the forest which was continued till the filing of this report on Saturday night.
