SARGODHA, June 20: A man was shot dead while two others hurt when two political rival groups traded fire at Chak 2-NB while canvassing for their respective candidates for by-election from PP-30.

According to reports, two groups led by Raja Muhammad Azeem (supporting PML-Q’s Zahid Iqbal Sindhu) and Raja Muhammad Shabbir (supporting MMA’s Mian Abdul Qadeer) exchanged harsh words and then resorted to fire.

As a result, Raja Azeem group’s Muhammad Ishaq was killed while Nausherwan and Ehsanul Haq were injured.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said a man was gunned down by his political rivals at Chak 5-NB. Several others were said to be injured in the clash.
