HYDERABAD: Delay in proceeding of Murtaza case flayed

By Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, June 20: A large number of PPP-SB activists observed a token hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Friday to protest against the inordinate delay in the dispensation of justice in the murder case of Mir Murtaza Bhutto and his companions and the construction of the greater Thal canal.

While talking to newsmen, PPP-SB leaders, Nisar Ahmed Baloch, Zahid Jokhio and others, said that seven years have passed but the murder case of Mir Murtaza Bhutto had not been decided as yet.

They said this was tantamount to denial of justice. They said that the killers of Mir Murtaza Bhutto were being given all kinds of facilities.

They also condemned the on-going construction of the greater Thal canal and termed it a conspiracy to destroy the economy of Sindh.

They demanded that the on-going construction of the Thal canal should be stopped and Sindh should be given its due share of water.

DEMO: The villagers of different villages of Tando Allahyar Taluka held a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club against the Chambar and Missan police for demanding the return of firearms given to them by the Sindh government in 1991 to fight against the dacoits.
