KARACHI: Two die in accidents

KARACHI, June 17: A man died when a container fell on his vehicle in Sharshah Tuesday.

Police said that Mohammad Hasan, 31, died when a container fell on his Suzuki-pickup at Gul Bai Chowk.

Police said that the container was being transported on a truck (LS-6519) when it fell on the vehicle.

The victim died on the spot. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi.

The victim was a resident of Hub, Balochistan, police added.

In another incident, a conductor of a minibus died when a vehicle fell into a drain in Khawaja Ajmair Nagri on Tuesday.

Police said that conductor Abdul Khan, 25, died when he got crushed under the vehicle. Several passengers were injured in the accident.

FIRE: A godown containing plastic and yarn caught fire in Shahrshah on Tuesday.

The fire department said the fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit which caused a loss of millions of rupees.

No loss of life was reported. Eleven fire-tenders worked for several hours to put out the fire.
