According to initial investigation, police said, the 30-year-old man, Shamsuddin, snatched the rifle of his security guard, Mukhtar Ahmed, and shot himself dead at his home in Defence Phase-II.

Mukhtar Ahmed went to his company’s head office in Mahmoodabad and was subsequently handed over to police.

The TPO Clifton, Munir Ahmed Shaikh, quoted the guard as saying that his employer had snatched his rifle to commit suicide.

Police said that Mukhtar had recently been hired by Shamsuddin. Further investigations were under way. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination, police added.
