Workshop on DTRE rules

HYDERABAD, June 16: The Central Board of Revenue and the Export Promotion Bureau have organized a one-day workshop at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to inform the exporters about duty and tax remission rules.

Speaking on the occasion, Duty Suspension Audit Office director Fazal Qadir Kalbani said under the Duty and Tax Remission for Export (DTRE) scheme, exporters had been given permission by the CBR to import raw materials used for the export goods without paying any duty.

He said in order to provide facilities to the exporters, the DTRE system had been streamlined and simplified.

He said a separate DTRE cell had been set up at the Hyderabad Collectorate.

Additional collector customs, Hyderabad, Khalid Mehmood said DTRE scheme had been introduced keeping in view previous experiences, problems confronting the exporters and the prevailing international situation.

HCCI president Abdul Razzaq Memon also spoke on the occasion.
