HYDERABAD: Councillors convention

HYDERABAD, June 15: The government has failed to provide basic rights to the women and despite their 33 per cent representation in the district governments, the female councillors had not been given any powers.

This was stated by Ayesha Munawar, MNA and MMA leader and the in charge, Khwateen Pakistan Cell, Jamaat-i-Islami, while speaking at a convention of women councillors of the Al-Khidmat group at the Markaz-i-Tableegh-i-Islam here on Saturday.

She urged the women councillors to follow the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and launch a struggle against all vices.

MPA Qulsoom Nizamani, provincial Naib Nazim of women wing, Hamida Aqeel, Atiya Nisar, Sabooh Talat and Shahnaz Baqai also spoke on the occasion.
