HYDERABAD, June 14: The Sindhi Language Authority here on Saturday organized a meeting of writers and intellectuals to discuss ways and means for development and promotion of Sindh language.

Initiating the debate, SLA chairman Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio said times had changed which had necessitated the use of scientific methods for development and promotion of Sindhi language.

He called upon the young writers and intellectuals to suggest ways and means to promote Sindhi language in the present age of information technology.

Zulfiqar Halepoto said only that language would gain roots which was the language of economics.

He said linguistic discrepancies should be removed from Sindhi textbooks and publication of Sindhi books on scientific subjects should be ensured.—Bureau
