KARACHI, June 14: Justice Zawwar Hussain Jaffery of the Sindh High Court on Saturday disposed of a petition by landowners as having borne fruit.

The petition was filed by Niaz Ahmed and others for compensation for their small holdings acquired by the government for a project at Thatta.

AAG Qazi Khalid Ali appeared on court notice and informed the judge that due compensation had since been paid to and received by the petitioners as full and final payment for their property.

Appreciating the government gesture, Justice Jaffery disposed of the petition in terms of the AAG’s statement.
