RAWALPINDI June 13: Three women were burnt in different incidents while preparing meals, doctors said on Friday.

In the first incident, Mohammad Ishaq’s daughter, Yasmin Bibi, 15, was burnt while showing a match stick to firewood in Murree. Victim’s mother, Aslam Jan, said her daughter’s clothes caught fire due to which she sustained burn injuries.

She was shifted to the Rawalpindi General Hospital. According to doctors, the victim received 67 per cent burns and was in critical condition.

In a similar incident, Nafisa Bibi, 20, was burnt while preparing breakfast on firewood in her house at New Murree, police said.

Mohammad Ishaq, father-in-law of the victim, said Nafisa’s scarf caught fire. Upon hearing her screams, the neighbours rushed to the scene and shifted her to the RGH. She received 70 per cent burns, and is in critical condition, doctors said.

In the third incident, Sangila Bibi was burnt in her house while preparing food on firewood at Kotli Sattian, the police said.

She received 30 per cent burn injuries and is said to be in serious condition.

Meanwhile, two houses were burgled and eight vehicles either stolen or snatched in different parts of the twin cities, the police said on Friday.

In one of the burglary incidents, some persons broke into the house of Fazal Hussain and made off with Rs28,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, in the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station, the police said.

Likewise, burglars broke into the house of Safder Mehmood and stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station.

A car (IDL-3806) was snatched at gunpoint by two persons in the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station. Ehsan Elahi’s motorcycle (RIX-2032) was stolen outside his house in Dhok Chaudhrian in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar Police Station.

Two motorcycles, RIV-8971 and RIV-6850, were stolen at I-9/1 in the jurisdiction of Industrial Area Police Station. Two other motorcycles, IDJ-5324 and H-1057, were stolen at G-9/4. Noman Nazeer’s motorcycle (RIX-4388) was stolen from the parking area of PTCL headquarters.

Woman killed: Some persons killed the wife of a retired army officer at her house in Morgah on Friday, police said.

The incident came to light when a housemaid — Sabz Bibi — failed to get any response when she visited the house of Lt-Col Abdul Rashid (retired).

The maid went to the house of Wing Commander Mohammad Iyaz residing in the neighbourhood to inquire about Abdul Rashid’s wife as her husband had gone to Quetta.
