SUKKUR, June 10: The consultant, Asian Development Bank, Christopher David, while talking to members of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that he was undertaking a tour of Quetta, Sukkur and other cities in order to acquaint himself with the problems being faced by the traders and industrialists of interior areas.
He said the Asian Development Bank is extending cooperation and guidance to the Small Medium Enterprises Development Authority for promoting small and medium traders and industrialists, and added that he desired to know their problems, especially regarding the registration of the firms.
He stressed the need to form corporate companies instead of partnerships or proprietorship concerns.
The SCCI president and its senior vice-president gave a brief resume on the structure of firms, which are mostly on sole proprietorships and partnerships, while a few are private limited companies registered with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
They brought to his notice that recently an office of the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has been set up in Sukkur in order to encourage corporate companies to get registered with it.
