SC to hear plea against Noorani

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 10: The Supreme Court will take up a contempt of court petition against Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani on Thursday.

Dr Aslam Khaki, who has challenged the educational qualification of 65 MMA lawmakers, through a civil miscellaneous application, drew the attention of the court towards a press statement of Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani.

The petitioner quoted head of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal as saying that Pakistan’s Supreme Court was not constitutional as its judges had not taken oath under the Constitution and its decision would not be binding on them.

The application was placed before a three-judge bench comprising Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Tanvir Ahmad Khan for preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
