KARACHI: Ambulances deployed at beaches

KARACHI, June 8: The Edhi Welfare Centre has deployed three ambulances at the beaches along Sindh and Balochistan coasts to cope with any eventuality arising during high tides.

An official of Edhi Centre said that one ambulance had been sent to Gadani beach in Balochistan, while two had been deployed near Manora in Sindh.

A number of picnickers throng beaches with the rise in seasonal temperature, which results in increasing number of drowning accidents.

The official said that efforts were also being made to deploy two ambulances near Keenjhar Lake, in which 26 persons drowned last week due to a boat capsize.—APP
