10 die in Valley


SRINAGAR, June 7: Ten people were killed in violence in occupied Kashmir as six were injured by police breaking up an anti-government demonstration, police said on Saturday.

An Indian army soldier was killed and another injured when militants opened fire on them at point-blank range in Srinagar, on Saturday evening, police said.

On Friday night, suspected militants shot dead Mohammed Sharief and his son, Mohammed Junaid, in the village of Dara Bagla, in Rajouri district, a police spokesman said.—AFP
