BAGHDAD, June 7: One US soldier was killed and four others wounded in an attack on Saturday near Saddam Hussein’s former stronghold of Tikrit, US Central Command said.
“One US soldier was killed and four were wounded this morning near Tikrit by rocket-propelled grenade and small arms fire,” Centcom said.
The injured soldiers were evacuated to military medical facilities in the area, the statement said, without giving more details about the attack near Baghdad.—AFP
