ISLAMABAD, June 7: National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has accepted the demand made by the opposition and extended the duration of general debate on the budget from five to six days.

According to National Assembly Secretariat, the speaker made the decision while presiding over a meeting of Business Advisory Committee here on Saturday.

It was decided in the meeting that the general discussion on the budget would now continue for 35 hours, instead of previous average discussion time of 20-25 hours.

Morning and evening sessions will start on June 10 and continue till June 16.—APP
