KARACHI: No politics of vengeance, says Farooq Sattar

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, June 7: Deputy convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee, and its candidate for the NA-255 by-elections, Dr Farooq Sattar has said that his party did not believe in politics of vengeance.

Speaking at a corner meeting at the Labour Square in Landhi, Dr Sattar said, it was evident from the amnesty announced by the MQM chief Altaf Hussain, that the party was not vindictive.

He said the element of fear was fading away and more and more people, who he claimed had been enslaved at gunpoint by the rival faction, were now responding positively to Muttahida’s message.

He said that women had very important role to play in the overall development of the community and the country.

He also referred to a new phase of development work in the area, and declared that permission for setting up a new college had been acquired, and a high school in sector 80 had been upgraded as Khurshid Begum College. Similarly, computer facility had been provided in schools and other civic amenities were also being upgraded, he said.
