SKARDU, June 6: Two houses and several cattle-pens were destroyed and several livestock killed by Indian shelling in Shyoke sector near the Line of Control in Baltistan, sources said on Friday.
The Indian security forces started firing on civilian population in Chorbat valley (Shyoke sector) in the morning. As a result, two houses completely destroyed and a number of animals died.
However, no human causality was reported as the villagers had already evacuated their villages and were taking shelter in bunkers.
Standing crops and fruits trees by the Indian shelling in Tchowar, Thokhmus and Pyone villages of the Chorbat valley also got damaged.
Pakistan army on Wednesday thwarted another major Indian attempt of fencing in the valley, causing heavy defensive losses to the enemy.
A man told this reporter that the people have been forced to bring down their animals from the summer mountain pastures, as the Indian army hit them by repeated shelling.
