KARACHI, June 5: A suspect and a policeman were injured in a shootout between police and armed men during a car snatching bid in F.B Area (Block 15) on Thursday.

Police said five suspects — three in a Suzuki Hiroof and two on motorcycle — were attempting to snatch a car near Javed Nehari.

Seeing a police mobile approaching, the suspects opened fire at the mobile injuring a policeman identified as Nazakat. Police returned the fire injuring a suspect.

However, the suspects managed to escape from the spot taking the injured suspect with them.

The car owner told the police that he was coming to the police station to lodge an FIR, but did not turn up.

In North Nazimabad, a young girl was injured when a stray bullet hit her in her home.

Aliya was sitting at the roof of her home when a stray bullet hit her. The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Hospital.

In Saudabad, a young man, Mohammad Umar, 22, suffered 100 per cent burns in his home on Thursday, and was taken to CHK.
