Karachi Port operations

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 2: Seven ships carrying containers, high speed diesel and to load naphtha and molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Bunga Masdua, Global Prosperity and Dong He to unload and load containers and Spring Orion to load chemicals were berthed after the departure of three.

The departing ships were led by Astor, Med Tai Chung, and Bunga Masdua, while Gant Star, Mar Challenger, Cape Negro and Dong He are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves remained light owing to lesser handling of the liquid tonnage, falling to 26,275 tons comprising 14,751 tons of export cargo and 11,524 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Storm Lady, to load 26,000 tons of naphtha, Warbah to offload 55,000 tons of high speed diesel, Kota Wirawan, Orient Stride, Oriental Bright and APL Emerald, with containers and Vladimir Vysotskiy, to load 15,500 tons of molasses.
