RAWALPINDI, June 1: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has been directed by the defence ministry to pay all kinds of taxes to the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, it has been learnt.
These taxes include property tax, ground rent and line rent for the installations of the power company that exist or pass through the jurisdictions of the cantonment board.
Iesco had earlier claimed an amount of Rs134 million as outstanding dues against the RCB and refused to pay any taxes to the civic body on account of property tax, line rent and ground rent.
The power supply company has also been asked to ensure provision of relief in tariff to the RCB offered by the Water and Power Development Authority chairman for tubewells installed for water supply and streetlight connections within the limits of the civic body.
