Salaries demanded

ABBOTTABAD, June 1: The health department employees have demanded payment of their salaries, looted by armed men three years ago, from Baitul Maal.

Unidentified bandits had snatched salaries of the DHQ Abbottabad office employees from the accountant when he was returning to the office after withdrawing cash from a bank.

It was said that sometimes back police had arrested the main culprit involved in the case, but no recovery was made to date.

In a statement on Sunday, the health officials demanded early payment of their salaries from the Baitul Maal funds.

ANTI-TOBACCO DAY: A number of functions were organized by welfare societies and NGOs to create awareness about hazards of smoking on the occasion of anti-tobacco day in Abbottabad on Saturday.

A poster competition was jointly organized by the Ayubian Welfare Society, Health and Welfare Services and SPADE.
