Road reopens
GILGIT, June 1: The Frontier Works Organization on Saturday restored the road link between Astore and Gilgit that had been suspended due to heavy landslides at 146 points since May 1.
Sources said the road had been opened for light traffic and it would be opened shorty for heavy traffic.
Foods, earthquakes and landslides had badly damaged the Astore-Gilgit road due to which the Astore valley suffered shortage of edibles, fuel and medicines.
